World Vision started operating in Lebanon in 1975 with the onset of the civil war. Today, we continue to assist Lebanese families and refugee communities through development projects, emergency relief, and advocacy in four areas (Beirut, Beqaa, North and South of Lebanon).

Education is paramount in Lebanese refugee camps as it provides a lifeline for displaced individuals, offering hope, empowerment, and a pathway to break the cycle of poverty amidst challenging circumstances.

The need.

Education and literacy is crucial for children who have experienced displacement and upheaval. Having a place to go and learn gives kids a sense of normalcy and routine and will help build a stable environment conducive to learning and personal development.

Project goals.

600 girls and boys have been enrolled catchup literacy programs to help bring them back to where they should be in their education. Part of their participation requires education kits (backpacks, paper, pencils, etc) to be able to complete the work and we hope to deliver education kits to all these boys and girls!
