Tony & Gráinne
"We would highly recommend anyone to become involved with World Vision by becoming a Child Sponsor, getting involved in fundraising events to help raise much needed funds, or by giving a one-off donation."
Sarah & John
"We have no hesitation in encouraging anyone to get involved with World Vision."
Maura
"I have always admired the work of World Vision and felt aligned to their ethos; for a relatively small amount of money, you can make a huge difference to a child, their family, their community, their country and the world. Every little action has a ripple effect, and you will gain so much from this one small action."
Seamus & Carmel
"We would encourage anyone we meet to get involved and actively support World Vision."

Somalia
Lebanon
Somalia
Somalia has been through consecutive seasons of failed rains with a devastating impact on poor, rural families who depend on farming and grazing for their food intake and family income. Currently, approximately 1.4 million children are at risk of acute malnutrition. Our programs are especially focused on food security and livelihoods, water and sanitation, health and nutrition, protection and education.
Lebanon
Lebanon has been assailed by compounded crises: economic, financial, COVID-19 and the Beirut explosion on August 4th, 2020. The ongoing financial crisis that started in October 2019 is overwhelming in terms of economic and social costs. In 2021, estimates revealed that more than 55% of the country's population was now trapped in poverty. These crises have severely affected communities' access to basic services, lowering standards of living and threatening daily survival for Lebanese and Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

So, you've got questions?

  • World Vision is committed to working with the most vulnerable communities around the world. For 70 years we have worked in some of the most difficult places in the world, and today our staff work in almost 100 countries. World Vision is the leading global partner of the World Food Programme. From the local to the global level, we account for every penny donated to our programmes.

  • Over 95% of World Vision staff are local to the countries and communities they serve. A core World Vision value is "we value people". Employing local people is one of the ways we build a future that includes stronger communities.

  • World Vision is committed to transparency. We publish our impact and our financial details online.

  • Our teams in Somalia and Lebanon have already identified the most vulnerable people and determined their urgent needs, so that when you make a donation we can act quickly to get your gift to the people and communities who need it most.

  • Unfortunately, that’s not possible. Many of the children and families we work with live in extremely dangerous circumstances, and we do not want to put you in any jeopardy. Also, for the privacy and protection of any gift recipients our policy is to never share their personal information. We hope you understand.

  • We appreciate you want to help people in other countries, but for now we are starting with Somalia and Lebanon. We hope to expand to more countries as soon as we fulfill these needs.

  • Check your junk mailbox first. Nothing from World Vision there? Did you tick the box that said "send me updates on my donation"? For legal and privacy rules and regulations, you must tick this box to receive these updates. If you are sure you opted in to get e-mail updates, and don’t see anything from World Vision in your inbox or junk mailbox, please get in touch with us at ireland@worldvision.ie so that we can resolve this in a timely manner.
